A step many have taken before. Successful racing drivers starting teams. We all know plenty of examples that made it in to F1. I doubt we will see Verstappen reach for that any time soon, if ever. But it is part of the charm of motorsports.06-03-2025 18:08

Mansell is one of my heros and personally I don't like swearing , but he is still wrong here. These drivers who have now been sanctioned for bad language where not swearing AT other people, not insulting others. They used a somewhat crass, but nowadays quite normal term to express their feelings about what happened. It is not right for organisations like FIA to meddle in such things, or worry about Hamilton's jewelry and such 'issues'. This is racing, not kindergarten. F1 and Rally are 'European' sports, even though FIA nowadays is dominated by petrodollars and pandering to very dubious regime's, while being lead by the absolutely wrong person who clearly does not understand or care about the history, culture, heritage or soul of the sport!26-02-2025 07:44

Don't be daft! There are no 'far left governments ' in 'The West', if anywhere in the world actually. Not these days, not for quite a while now. The normal left does not even manage to hit a hole in a wet paper bag generally. The Democrats are somewhat right of center, Labor is middle of the road, quite 'liberal' ( European definition), so are most ' social ' parties around. Anyone who claims different has no historical or political sense. Look at Tony Blair, was this staunch supporter of Bush's wars, capitalism and privatisation 'left wing'? How about Kok in The Netherlands, the German 'social Democrats'? Exactly! On the other hand, the far right, fascism, sadly is very much alive and kicking. Very much supported and fostered by Russia.. Neither extreme is a good idea, extremes endanger our society, democrats and values.26-02-2025 08:02

It is absolutely shameful when 'fans' do this. When Hamilton fans do so in England, but (as Verstappen himself said) also when Dutch 'fans' behave badly towards Hamilton at Zandvoort. Those defending it or again attacking one of these drivers here should equally stop and think about what they are up to! Acting like a bunch of prepubesant brainless louts has never done anyone any good.22-02-2025 19:26

No! I am a Verstappen fan , like I have been and still am, as a F1 enthusiast, a fan of several drivers, but Verstappen fanboys who act ridiculous like the English ones in the O2 arena annoy me just as much. Be a fan, not a hooligan! If you are a Verstappen fan, but refuse to see Hamiltons obvious qualities or vise versa, you have blinders on and are no true racing fan. Regardless of nationality or favorite driver these idiots need to grow up! So do those who defend them or follow up by ranting about either driver on this and other forums!22-02-2025 19:30

He also called on his fans and ..sad fanboys to NOT boo Hamilton! That is how it should be. But there is a difference between 'homeground boisterous behavior, be it in Zandvoort or Silverstone and this event in the O2 area also. It is supposed to celebrate F1 as a whole and shouldn't be partisan. F1 is a mainly European sport, with strong British roots, I think that is great, most times. Not when fans can't behave There now also is a Dutch component again, also great..but not really the negative enthusiasm. Side note, with MBS and the impact of petrodollars , real dollars F1 is at a severe risk of losing it's roots, it's 'soul'. We should boo that!22-02-2025 19:37

Regardless of real consequences, the way FIA is acting nowadays , especially it's horrible president, is wrong. F1 is a modern Western sport, mainly European in origin. Autocratic non sense like we see with MBS is not right for it. Curtailing free speech, logical or even illogical complaining should not lead to drama. No one wins if that happens27-01-2025 10:50

Clearly it is beneficial if one is able to intimidate the competition. Not just in F1, but in many sports. I don't particularly consider Russell's whining standing up against that though. But then, this is Herbert, who SHOULD SHUT HIS YAP or quit his job as a steward. A referee is not a pundit, it is not right for someone in that position to be this outspoken and this partisan!23-01-2025 14:08
